668170 2008-05-10 22:50:00 Am wanting to send an email that auto plays a .wav attached file when it is opened.
What is the method to do this?!
Many thanks

668171 2008-05-10 23:16:00 You need to set the music as background here is an article (www.howto-outlook.com) that explains how.

Just remember though, it will increase the size of the email, so make sure the .wav is not to big, esp if the receiving ( or yourself) only has dial up.

668172 2008-05-11 01:57:00 Update to above - the path in the article made a typo - Create a new Mail, then FORMAT-Background-> Sound wainuitech (129)

668174 2008-05-11 22:08:00 Thanks for your help on this.
First tried (MS Office 03) View-> Toolbars-> Web Tools and after clicking on the sound icon got “This object was created in MTMLInlinessound Ctl. This application in not available to open this object."
Then tried your suggestion Create a new Mail, then FORMAT-Background-> Sound.
Under Background all that comes up is the colour format option – am I missing something here?
Many thanks

668175 2008-05-11 22:34:00 Your recipient will be so thankful if you can't or don't do it.
If I got one in my email the email sender would sure be on my blacklist. Web pages with lots of images (blocked) are bad enough but video or audio would be worse.

668176 2008-05-11 22:44:00 That method posted is for Outlook Express - as it mentions in the article, its a lot harder to embed a sound in Outlook - Outlook is designed for OFFICE use,so sounds are not generally used, if you needed something like that then a Power point would be a alternative option.

BUT even though getting emails with embedded music can be a pain , it also depends on how its set, either to play once or repeat - who knows could be a happy birthday mail - mothers day ( bit late that was yesterday).

But heres how to do it ( in pictures) from Outlook express - Create a new mail, click Format-Background- Sound 1st Step (www.imagef1.net.nz) Then in the Box that pops out (www.imagef1.net.nz) navigate to the audio file and insert.

668177 2008-05-12 22:12:00 Yep, Outlook if its patched will block/disable most embedded things from playing automatically - as it should :) autechre (266)

668179 2008-05-13 08:27:00 Guys let it go. If he wants to send such an email, its for him to do so and the recipients to decide whether they like it or not. beeswax34 (63)
