| 668081 | 2008-05-10 13:34:00 | i was going through add/remove programs and deleting things that hadn't been used for a while, as i was going through the list i came across 'sound max' and it said used rarely, last used some date in 2006 so i uninstalled it not knowing what it was, restarted the computer then oops, no sound!! i've searched through forums on google for the past 2 hours looking for an answer but nothing solves it, i dont want to do a system restore as i have added quite a few new programs to the computer today and uninstalled alot of old ones and don't want to have to do it all over again.can anyone tell me how to get my sound working again? any help WILL be VERY much appreciated!! | deno240 (13664) | ||

| 668084 | 2008-05-10 14:03:00 | I can't remember much, but I think dxdiag gives the name. Go to start - run - type in dxdiag, enter. The window that shows up should tell you the name of the motherboard I think. Otherwise, download this small tool called CPU-Z (google it) and go to its mainboard tab. It will show you the name of the motherboard. |

Go to Dell's website, search up your exact PC model name, and look for its download page, which should let you download your audio driver. EDIT: I think it's this one: support.euro.dell.com Download it, install and tell me of the result. This should be the one. |
