667405 2008-05-09 00:06:00 Have used ZoneAlarm for some time - not the free version. At some time in the past I must have changed a setting which has only become obvious since I rebooted the machine. Problem is that ZoneAlarm no longer automatically opens. It normally sat in the tray at bottom left of screen. I have checked the programme files and it is not obvious to me which one I should run in order to reset the programme to open automatically. Can anyone please help?

Thanks in advance
Michael

667406 2008-05-09 01:09:00 Assuming you have XP click Start/Run, type in msconfig Press enter, look on the Statup Tab, scroll through the programs and look to see if Zonealarm is listed to run on startup.

I cant remember now, but it will have something like ZA as well as True Vector.

There is a setting also in ZA that you can tick that says run on startup, but maybe some one else can advise where that is - I dumped ZA ages ago due to problems with it, so I cant look and advice of its location.

667407 2008-05-09 02:06:00 With the ZA control centre open, select Overview, go to the Preferences tab. You will find "load at startup" option on that page. rumpty (2863)
667408 2008-05-09 03:13:00 Thanks Wainuitech. I have checked msconfig and ZA is not listed. I think I need to get into ZA and change the setting from there. MPG (8302)
667409 2008-05-09 03:16:00 Thanks rumpty. I am sure that is what I need to do. Just can't find where the Control Centre is lurking. I was expecting that the appropriate exe file would be obvious but it isn't. Do you know which one I should click on to get the programme to open?

Thanks
