1426246 2016-09-20 08:58:00 Hello All
The Xtra/Spark/Yahoo marriage is over...
I am sure most of you know all about this. Today I received an announcement by Xtra/Spark asking for permission to move email and contact details over to the new email system provider.
Has anyone of you switched already? Any comments about it?

1426247 2016-09-20 10:13:00 You want to keep your email then move.

Be better to move to another email provider without the hassle.

Xtra has shifted 3 times, how many more times do you want?

The Spark email address is manly for the use of their invoice and very few anothers .
So not a problem, just wanted to check what others think about it .
Thanks

I can see that being a issue
many (most) xtra email users have no idea what the password is "I dont have a password" :badpc:

Perhaps they need the password to add the user passwords to the new email servers .

1426251 2016-09-21 23:32:00 I would question the reason for that because the password should not be needed at all. In fact them asking for permission sounds suspect considering they own the emails. There was no permission needed when they moved to msn or yahoo, so what gives now?

This might be a sophisticated phishing attack making use of yahoo!s troubling situation.

1426252 2016-09-22 00:25:00 Apparently we have to give permission before the end of November or lose emails and contacts stored with Yahoo but the changeover won't happen until Jan-Mar next year. bellbird (6169)
1426253 2016-09-22 22:24:00 I heard on the news today, Yahoo admited a huuuuge security breach from 2014 . 500 Million user a/c's .
And thats after the huge 2012 breech : I see they learnt nothing from that .

www.wsj.com

And some xtra users are actually complaining about Spark moving email off yahoo :badpc:

1426255 2016-09-22 22:38:00 Verizon is buying Yahoo for $4.8 billion
money.cnn.com

Could that buyout be the real reason Spark is moving email off Yahoo . Nothing to do with security & reliability issues ?
More than co-incidence ?

from Lawrences link
"What is more ironic is that Verizon is paying $4.8 billion for the only asset that Yahoo has, or rather had, its user information, which is now publicly available for $1800 on the dark web.?"
a banana for yahoo. the end is nigh, the end is nigh
