1423969 2016-08-02 07:02:00 Just had a call from Genesis Energy telling me I could save on their plan. Ok, told them I was with GreyPower Electricity, but went through the procedure of comparing unit prices controlled and uncontrolled as per my latest account. Hmm, seems I would have paid $205 with Genesis compared to what I actually paid with GreyPower Electricity...... Which was $171. Methinks will stick with the devil you know! :D

1423970 2016-08-02 07:16:00 I am with Energy Online who I have found pretty good. Here in the Bay they are the best when doing a comparison.. I must have a look at Greypower after your comments. :)

1423971 2016-08-03 00:41:00 We stopped the endless procession of people coming to the door trying to sell us their power.
And phone/net service.
And whatever.

Powerswitch website shows you a comparison of pricing - and customer service.

1423972 2016-08-03 01:47:00 I have been with Contact energy since their inception, but was highly pissed off when they advertised better rates than I was getting. Anyway I signed up for Mercury energy a month ago after being pestered by them for some time. So far nothing has changed, still supplied by Contact who offered me $150 credit, 20% discount and better unit rates. So far neither of them have done anything, but the lights still switch on :) mzee (3324)
1423973 2016-08-03 02:38:00 Don't care anymore - seems Giveth and Taketh. Contact may be higher...but offer good early payment discounts - It seems for low energy users. Cost approx 45 dollars less p/m if I remain in credit. kahawai chaser (3545)
1423974 2016-08-03 05:06:00 Yer we're with contact here and get the 22% discount if we pay before the payment date. Through online banking. Theyre not too bad Speedy Gonzales (78)

1423976 2016-08-03 05:55:00 I guess no one lives in the overpriced King Country district. Those amounts barely trickle our power. Kame (312)

That was part of the dispute, they were only giving me 10%.

I'm with them, too. Pricing strategy seems to be competitive (not always the best because they don't always match any fire sale incentive pricing) and so far I'm with them for the long haul.
