1423889 2016-07-31 05:54:00 Been watching a few recently made UK movies from Sky On Demand. Seems many middle aged actors - including Rowan Atkinson, (www.youtube.com) (scene with Alan Rickman from "Love Actually") Michael Caine, and few others - all say "Lovely".

Do Brits reply commonly with this term? and mean this as sarcasm, or are they being overly friendly, or gentlemanly, or is it always been like that? Now I have never heard it here...and probably never will from a kiwi bloke, regardless of social - class - educational, background.
