2016-09-21 09:41:00 | Note: as of yesterday you can still use a W7 key to install and upgrade to W10 and it activates. What the bet that the free upgrade will end when this comes along for Windows 7 www.neowin.net

2016-09-21 12:54:00 | 5. Blu-Ray playback - Couldn't get it to and so gave up after a few attempts over a couple of weeks - FailAn artificial DRM restriction (with some available workarounds provided by smart people who want to share). help.ubuntu.com 6. Lightbox - requires silverlight which is not supported on Linux, installed and configure pipelight which is supposed to do the same job but couldn't get anything to play - FailAgain, Silverlight is a proprietary, closed source Microsoft product designed with vendor lock-in as one of the specifications. The purveyors of these systems are actively trying to prevent you from using them outside of their "authorised" environments.

2016-09-21 13:21:00 | Several times and on several forums when I was having problems with Ubuntu Server I asked what should be a simple question relating to networking and file sharing for anyone who knew what they were doing on Linux servers, after roughly 3 weeks of getting nothing but BS completely wrong answers that didn't work, and when wanting more info, no responses,Citation needed. | fred_fish (15241) | |
2016-09-21 19:36:00 | If you ran a repair install and the DVD had SP 1 already then no it shouldn't. How much is the son in love with the gaming ;) Meaning what you can try, throw in another HDD, install W7 Wsp1 from fresh, . Lots. God no.............I really want to avoid that because of the amount of stuff to install in C: Including all his work stuff, it took a bit from the company IT guy last time too........... I'll try the repair. Thanks

I'll try the repair. Thanks The install fresh on another drive was only meaning to see if it held the activation. If it does then you know there's some sort of corruption / program causing it to deactivate and know where to start hunting the problem down on the current install. |
