1426701 2016-10-01 03:21:00 Here's one for the records, after this update Ccleaner is completely missing, not a sign of it anywhere.

Reinstalled it and back to normal but wtf?

Only time I've come across that was when Ccleaner was quite a way out of date. Most of the time its fine. They seem to update that program quiet regularly, at least once month. Latest as of today is v5.22.5724

1426703 2016-10-01 03:35:00 CCleaner all present and correct here. When I did the previous cumulative update and rebooted, Classic Start Menu belched, disappeared, and showed the W10 start menu (sort of) on the reboot, but after a short time it reappeared. I don't know what happened but it certainly wasn't a reinstall of Classic Start Menu. It just seemed to stumble its way out of some kind of confusion. On this cumulative update, nothing unusual happened.

So far, apart from that one piece of weirdness, W10 has completely behaved itself as it should.

1426704 2016-10-01 04:28:00 It's strange how different people are experiencing different glitches.

In my case Classic shell hasn't been effected, other than advising it would have to update to accommodate the new operating system. That was this morning and everything is working fine there. Up to this morning it survived the other updates without the slightest hitch.

The fact that it came through from the Win 8/8.1 without having to be reinstalled really surprised me.

As far as I'm concerned, Win 10 appears to be a good Operating System in its own right, but all the advertising and smart Aleck peripherals like Spyware and Telemetry destroy it.

Pity.

I’ve never ever struck it, and I must confess I am guilty of being a runner in the election for the High Priest of : “If it a’int f’n broken, don’t fix it!”

I can think back to numerous conversations that have become quite uncivil with friends, relations and others that have stuffed things by fixing them when they weren’t broken. :D

So to sum-up: Wainui, there was every chance my lost version of Ccleaner was not the latest. ;)

It is now.

It was broken, so I fixed it. ;)

The Solitaire or Spider Solitaire originals -- These were removed from W8 onwards, they can be put back in, but just not Via MS. Go to get-windows-7-games-for-windows-10/ (winaero.com) Scroll down the page and under 1. is the download link, its a 146MB Zipped file. Takes you to another page scroll down a little and above the Donate button is the link. Unzip the exe and run it, all your games as per W7 will be back, under games in the menu.
Note: you don't have to install them all, you have options during the install process, by default all are ticked. Takes a moment to run once you first double click the exe.

Here's a hint: if the Computer is running slow or apps not opening ( this goes for B.M as well) open task manager look at the CPU or Memory usage, if its high, scroll down and see if Runtime Broker is running, its often a cause of slowness - if it is, click /end task, your speed will come back instantly. The cause is one of several, process of elimination to turn them off, only takes a minute or two.

This is well documented on a google search. :)

Thanks wai, managed to copy spider solitaire over to her pc, that will suffice until we check out other solitaire's available.

Gathered the "e" problem was what happens when one "can continue working", but one is talking to a blankety "blank" screen, nothing else works.

Will digest your reply and give wifey a copy.

Thks again,

lurking.
