Hmm, I'd disagree with that. My sneakers I bought 36 years ago from para Rubber ....got a bit worn after 33 years. So I got some denim patches and glued it back together with Araldite. Still going strong. |

Not great where flexibility is required in general. I have some leather sandals I like to wear for hiking in summer because they are comfortable but I'm not sure they look particularly cool. The straps just detached themselves from the sole last summer and it turns out they were just glued. Not complaining though they lasted several years and were cheap enough. Time to find some new ones. |

I hate the noise they make, they make a woman's bum stick out and emphasize the calf muscles, makes them look like a horse, they damage the floor. High heeled shoes should be banned in Hospitals. You are in a peaceful doze and a women walks rapidly down the corridor emitting staccato clacks, made faster by the fact that she is wearing a narrow skirt which restricts her stride. I hate the memory of having my bum assaulted with a high heeled shoe brandished by a deranged school teacher. |

A few months ago I saw a completely bald man who had obviously been wearing a baseball cap out in the sun . He had a perfect half-moon of red at the back of his head, presumably from the gap for the adjusting strap . And herein lies a fallacy concerning US Baseball Caps . REAL baseball caps have no adjusting strap in the back - or front if you wear them hood-style - as they are made to the individual's hat size and have no adjustments available . There may be some 'give' in the material allowing them to vary a sillimeter or so, but not much! That phony hat with the crescent in the back will not be an item of concern if the cap is authentic . Here's another baseball cap fact: REAL US Baseball Caps have a green under-bill color . Why? To help the player keep glare to a minimum . There are some nay-sayers to this, but notice in the C/P below that the person who posted this 'information' misspelled the word "COLOR" to the UK/Aus/NZ version as "COLOUR" - so he and his authority are both suspect . . . . . immediately! There are couple of reasons for this . There is legend, the other may be closer to the truth . Years ago baseball cap makers started colouring the underbrim of baseball hat's a green colour to reduce glare from the sun and field lighting to improve ball-spotting for the players . Actual science supposedly went in to this: tradition kept it so for decades . New Era is the official maker of hats for major league baseball: it was ultimately New Era's design and decision to make the bottom of the brims green . In the last few years New Era went to a grey underbrim, and then to a 'matching-colour' underbrim (which is what they use now) . Most other brands have followed but they still sell green ones, these being their vintage styles . I personally don't give a fig for baseball, nor soccer nor ice hockey nor most other sports - but my father had been 'spotted' for the New York Yankees just before WW-II started up, and he had his potential baseball career cut short by the US Navy . It worked out to his greater advantage - but there is always the little "IF" in the back of the minds of the family at large . I am not a SPORT-O . Fishing, OTOH and music are my concerns now as I eschew all contact sports and some non-contact ones to be fair . |

Why buy expensive shirts when a $10 t-shirt does the same thing In fact, imagine the savings if everyone had the exact same generic clothes . baseball cap: it keeps the sun off my face. Yes , it does actually do its job . It also keeps the bright lights out of my eyes indoors , so yep, I wear a baseball hat indoors at night. Also good for hiding the bald spot = real reason most wear em :-) LOL I like the last reason why men wear 'em! |
