668238 2008-05-11 05:26:00 When I boot up and just leave the puter to run all by itself and I haven't signed into a username yet . . . is my firewall running or does it even need to run until I actually launch my username?

I wonder if it is unsafe to just go get something to eat and return and complete the sign-in process then?

Running XP-P with a router and DSL .

668239 2008-05-11 06:42:00 If you have Comodo, maybe you could tick this option so nothing would get out until you had logged on and all services had loaded:

What about being behind the router? Isn't that a pretty good firewall too?

Part B:

If there aren't any services really up and running, with the exception of the Windows sign-in screen . . . is there any real danger?
