2005-09-03 02:22:00 | Not sure if any of you have recieved this email yet, but I thought it would be interesting to some. Sorry if I am slow, and this is old news :) I wonder if anyone will participate? At the same time it would hit the entire industry with a net loss at the current prices of $1.50 per litre (30 litres for a full tank) $45.00 x a conservative estimate of 2,000,000 vehicles in NZ that would equate to $90 million dollar loss (one day) to the oil companies and hit their profit margins. Therefore September 5th has been informally declared "Stick it up their butts day". Motorists of New Zealand should not buy a single drop for that day! The only way this can be done if your forward this e-mail to as many people as you can to get the word out. Waiting on this Government to step in and control prices is not going to happen and there is an Election coming so why not throw them into a panic. OTH PARTIES HAVE REFUSED TO REMOVE THE EXTRA 0.05 CENT SURCHARGE ON PETROL INTRODUCED ON 1st APRIL 2005. Remember one thing about raising gas prices: * Airlines are forced to raise their prices * Trucking companies forced to raise their prices These prices affect the cost of shipping * Flow on effect that your GROCERY BILL goes up * Flow on effect on clothing, building, medical supplies! * It effects all of us in every area while companies can write off these expenses, consumers cannot. Who pays in the end? WE DO - The consumer! We can make a difference if they don't get the message after one day we will do it again and again. Enough of these ridiculous excuses that the oil companies use to justify their increases everything from President Bush missing a golf stroke on the 9th hole to Aunt Fanny's artificial leg falling off. If you are sick of this manipulation vote with your car and do not buy a drop. Spread the word and mark the date on your calendars. PLEASE FORWARD THIS ON TO EVERYONE YOU CAN!!!!

2005-09-03 02:58:00 | Who do you think you're kidding? Stuff like that is a terrible waste of the ethernet . So what . . . . . . . . . . . . don't buy (insert product of current scorn here) for one day, and get it the next while purchasing more to compensate for not buying it the day before . . . . who loses? Nobody but the people who are boycotting that one day . There is no ripple effect . . . . . . . . . . . . . . it doesn't exist . . . it's too big to fight, so just forget sending this e to all your biddies and net-buddies . Just another stupid pyramid to congest the net . :angry

2005-09-03 05:47:00 | It worked in Aussie didnt it? The Petrol thing, not the email What worked in Oz? Remember, this is Australians you are talking about . :D It can't work, you only buy gas when you need it, so if you don't need it on Sept 5th you can't boycott anything . If you do need petrol on Sept 5th and don't buy it, you can't go anywhere, so you clout all the little traders you didn't spend with on your day of boycott . I don't know who dreams up this mindless rubbish, they are worse than the politicians, and only slightly less mindless than those who believe it and pass it on . If you are still keen on the idea, I have an Uncle in Nigeria you can help instead . He has millions of dollars of oil money stuck in a bank and needs somebody to help him get it out of the country . For 5% of the take I'll put you on to him . Cheers Billy 8-{)

2005-09-03 06:14:00 | Here is another idea doing the rounds From the UK. Reduce UK Petrol Prices - a rip-off at over 90p a litre See what you think and pass it on if you agree with it. We are hitting 95p a litre in some areas now, soon we will be faced with paying 1 a ltr. This idea makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the "don't buy petrol on a certain day" campaign that was going around last April or May! The oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to hurt ourselves by refusing to buy petrol. It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them. BUT, whoever thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can really work. Please read it and join in! Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost of a litre is CHEAP, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the marketplace not! sellers. With the price of petrol going up more each day, we consumers need to take action. The only way we are going to see the price of petrol come down is if we hit someone in the pocket by not purchasing their Petrol! And we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves. Here's the idea: For the rest of this year, DON'T purchase ANY petrol from the two biggest oil companies ESSO and BP (which now are one super-conglomerate), instead use Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury's, Morrisons, Jet, Shell etc. If they are not selling any petrol, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit. But to have an effective impact, we need to reach literally millions of Esso and BP petrol buyers. It is said a single person can't change the whole, but acting together we all can make a difference. If this makes sense to you, please pass this message on. PLEASE HOLD OUT UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE 69p a LITRE RANGE. It's easy to make this happen. Just forward this email, and buy your petrol at Shell, Asda, Tesco, Sainsburys, Morrisons Jet etc. i.e. boycott BP and Esso.

2005-09-03 10:37:00 | What are the chances a spammer started this? This one was prime bait for finding new email addresses to spam - I've seen a lot of people who don't usually forward things forward this email & they even forward it to the people that would kill you if you sent them the joke forwards. | Greven (91) | |
