The graphics aren't of the expected quality, requiring the player to zoom in to see anything "special" Micro-management has been increased . No new game elements implmented apart from the already mentioned micro-management . Blue-screen of death if user has AA or AF enabled . Not my views, just what I picked up from some forums . I am yet to try it though i have downloaded it, Looking foward to it . |

| 386882 | 2005-09-09 10:24:00 | righty-o . have had a mess with her . 3 second review Shes an old warhourse,updated to 2005 but still left behind by the feild . 2 minute review graphics are nice,not spectaculer though nice touches abound, not even close to what i was expecting . The big negative is that it ran like a dog, infact, it ran like a dog that had lost its owner, been without food for 3 weeks, been beaten up by a pack of meaner uglier dogs and then run over by an enraged (but supressed ) Auckland housewife . even with half the map "in the dark" very few charecters and buildings and with nearly no action going on . . . . Scrolling around the feild of play bought on the st-st-st-st-stutters . it also apears that the high resolution textures are not packaged in this demo The user interface does indeed cover a quarter or more of the screen, wasted real-estate, the crap on it doesnt justify the size, its like having a wall across the bottem of the screen . May seem petty but to me its bad design and a big negative . Gameplay . I didn't give it a chance . Initially it feels like AOE, send your peasents to gather resources, send a scout out to scour the map, start building to increase your ability to gather resources so you can advance through the ages all so you can build an army,march across the map and slaughter the different coloured sttlers purely because they happen to be living within reach of your army . I never got to the army stage, combine the slow pace of the game, the choppy performance and the fact I have played through the exact same freaking scenario 10 hundred million billion times before in AOE, AOE2, AOE2-Expansion,Empire Earth, Rise of Nations (now thats a game to be proud of) and a half dozen other titles and I just could not be arsed . Granted the game is bound to have many elements and depth that makes it a great game, something that an RTS junkie will probally love, For me . . . . meh . . . . Im done . deleted, and off my shopping list unless reviews report that the full runs much better and has some amazing new gameplay features . System game was run on AMD64 3000 6600GT 1GB DDR 400 graphic settings 1024x768 every i could find in the game on its highest setting 4x aa and 4x af forced in the video drivers CP . As for Rise of nations 2, they have incorperated magic and science fantasy into it, great way to ruin a franchise peckerheads . War rules without wizards,elfs and robby the freakin robot . Feel free to use this in the mag Bruce . . . . . . . . Muhahahahahaha . Off to play rFactor . . . . . . . . . . . VVVVVVVVVVVRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOMMMMMMMM |
