668894 2008-05-13 04:02:00 Just out of interest, has anyone ever returned a Dell before the 15 days to the "return warehouse" and is able to tell me where it is? I would give them a ring, but don't have time right now to stay on the phone.
If its in Malaysia, where the computer came from, courier cost will be phenomenal.

To return products, you must call Dell to receive a Credit Return Authorization Number. Arrangements for the return will be made with you at this time. To expedite the processing of your refund or credit, Dell expects the return of the products to Dell in their original packaging within five days of the date that Dell issues the Credit Return Authorization Number.

If you read my first post you would have seen I can't be on the phone right now to ring them, and was just wondering where I would have to send the laptop if I did want to return it, so I could quickly work out how much shipping would be.

668899 2008-05-13 05:59:00 I would suspect only they can tell you the details, But if they say you need to call them to arrange a Credit Return Authorization Number, then thats what you have to do.

I honestly cant see them asking you to send the product back over seas (assuming you are in NZ) - So if you have to pay courier fees to send it back then it would be a standard courier fee from a NZ courier company, generally for a Laptop, in its original packaging, around $13 - $15 should cover it.

Thats all I pay to send items of that size to almost any place in NZ from WGTN.

Is it because you have changed your mind, or is it because there is a problem with it, and you just want a refund? If it is a fault with the computer, then Dell should pay the costs of the return.
I think they should charge you a 'reasonable fee', and it should also be to a NZ location, as they do infer that that they are a NZ business, as they call themselves Dell NZ. You certainly shouldn't have to pay to send it back overseas. You shouldn't really have to pay over $20. Dell already rip off NZers with their prices, compared to what they charge their US customers.

If you aren't happy with the price they charge you for freight, which I think is excessive, you could complain to the commerce commission, that they don't clearly disclose this fee as part of the returns policy.
