385808 2005-09-03 23:07:00 Hi

Just got spammed again with the "Petrol Boycott" message. I picked it up in Mailwasher and looked to see who sent it to me, preparatory to giving them a rev.

Problem is, I know none of the names or addresses in the original sender's header, and my email address doesn't appear anywhere in the subsequent forwarding data as shown below. I have deleted all the prior bumpf and copied only the part of the header that is related to delivery to me. My email is privately but professionally hosted so I have deleted their address.

My interest is in finding out how an email can get to my mailbox without using my address. I don't doubt there's a way, but what is it?

Cheers

385809 2005-09-03 23:35:00 Your address would have been in their BCC Address field to achieve that

I am on a regular email update from an overseas regulatory organisation and also a NZ one, and my address appears nowhere in the headers detail as its part of their BCC mail listing, professionally done.

385810 2005-09-04 02:06:00 Thank you GF

The simplest answers are usually the most obvious, once explained!

Leaves me with the task of deciding who is inconsiderate enough to spam me and stupid enough to forward this particular message, yet thoughtful enough to put me in the BCC field .

Cheers

I won't even go into the fact that it's technicall not spam, we'll leave that for another day.

385814 2005-09-04 05:48:00 E-mail originated from some elderly ladies from another forum. Seems someone from there has a connection with this group. That's why we are copping them.
They're harmless and are just trying a useless protest about petrol prices.

Possibly Chris at Creative Concepts? (www.creativeconcepts.co.nz) or once the Companies Office website (www.companies.govt.nz) is back up, look up the company.
