| 669178 | 2008-05-13 22:10:00 | Has anyone experianced AVG8 using dialup. Appears to not activate dialup sequence when programed, so therefore never reachs sever to update. If you manually go to webpage, then click update button ,it will update, this appears to be the only way to do it. NO AUTOMATIC UPDATES WILL WORK. AVG7.5 worked OK. |

I'm on dial up, and had issues even downloading AVG 8 (I think it was 45 MB), so downloaded Avast (about half the size) with no auto update issues. I installed AVG 8 last night, but it did not auto-update at the programmed time (even though connection already established). I went in and checked the settings and manually updated (which confirmed that there was an update available). I'll be interested to see if anybody else has the same probblem and has a solution.
