387804 2005-09-12 03:03:00 Me wife is looking for some - where will I find the cheapest? I've looked around but they seem to be all the same price

387805 2005-09-12 03:08:00 Are you sure you really want the cheapest? Sometimes you do get what you pay for. I saw one (bought from the wellknown computer store Pak'n'Save) with a USB connector which was the PCB, not a connector. It lasted all of a week before it died.

PriceSpy (www.pricespy.co.nz) will help with price comparisons.

387807 2005-09-12 03:20:00 Thanks guys.

I've got NO knowledge of them - don't even know how it should look and the wife wants to buy one TODAY. We will start at the WH?

387808 2005-09-12 03:39:00 Have a look at the plug on a USB cable before you start. The under $20 units on PriceSpy seem to be mostly "RunDisk" brand; that's the one I saw. It had a "plastic and PCB" connector. A real USB connector looks different, and more durable.

The prices listed range from $18.32 to $436. I doubt if you want a 4GB one. ;)

387809 2005-09-12 04:13:00 I bought my 512mb stick from Dick Smiths about 4-5 months ago. Still works, has never failed to do its job.

cheers,

387811 2005-09-12 04:32:00 I have fried an Apacer, Transcend and a couple of Kingstons.

Decided to live without for the time being......

387812 2005-09-12 05:34:00 I'd avoid RunDisk like the plague. (Mine didnt last a week)

I got me a Seitec which has been with me for 4 months without fail
