| 387719 | 2005-09-12 02:46:00 | In a previous thread quite a few people were saying they wouldnt buy computers from DSE, why is that? I am interested in their Scoop 2400 computer. Would that be a bad buy? For the price of $700 for a CPU, or about $950 including a 19 monitor. | ssssss (2100) | ||
| 387720 | 2005-09-12 03:00:00 | In a previous thread quite a few people were saying they wouldnt buy computers from DSE, why is that? That is because people often say silly things on forums. "When you've got a computer, why bother thinking?" |

So....if you don't consider DSE and its army of schoolboy salesmen to be the best option for purchases you lack the ability to think, due to owning a computer? |

Just had a look at their website, So they are responsible for millions of peopple going around calling their computer a CPU! Its a computer! The CPU is a chip inside the computer that does most of the work. Its the processor. Someone rang me the other day asking for a modem to be inserted into her CPU - strange art forms sprang to mind immediately. Do we solder or weld? Or perhaps glue would work better. What do you think? |

The CPU is a chip inside the computer that does most of the work. Its the processor. Someone rang me the other day asking for a modem to be inserted into her CPUIts like the common misconception of calling the tower the harddrive (which I will admit to being guilty of before I knew better). We get a few of them at work.. 'can you put more RAM into my harddrive?' Then theres the timeless one I read somewhere; 'the coffeecup holder on my computer is broken' :p To the original poster.... if you think the computer will suit your needs, go for it. DSE computers (on a whole) will be quite satisfactory for emails, browsing, etc. If you think you are buying a high-powered games machine (for example) you need to look around and pay quite a bit more |
