387198 2005-09-09 08:44:00 Recently bought a DVD player, and a new kids dvd to play on it, all other dvd's play fine, this one disk so far on one track stops, pic is clear, just frozen? took it out and wiped it, and still does this?

Is it the dvd ? or the disk? both are new, and no other probs with DVD player, all dvd's up till now run smooth and clear as .

Do i need to clean disk with a liquid type cleaner or?

suggestions please .

387199 2005-09-09 09:06:00 how long did you leave it to stick for?

Sometimes the cheapies take a while to kick in after the 'stick'
e.g the Mustek V56L DVD player from DSE

We were watching it, it stuck and we left it, and nothing, gave it a little bit? 1 min i spose, could have been more or less. popped out the DVD and wiped clean and the started again, got to same spot and did same thing again. so forwarded to next part and works fine so only one actual spot on the dvd sticks it seems.

387201 2005-09-09 11:44:00 Is it a dual layer disk Beetle?
name the disk and the brand and model of player that your using.

Check the disk for any dust or pits or scratches and you could always try it in another player.

I have a combo machine here that does that sort of thing even when it was brand new and on several disks also brand new, It's still under warrenty so it might be getting a trip back yet.

387202 2005-09-09 13:31:00 "Some movies, especially those over two hours long or encoded at a high-data rate, are spread across two layers on one side of the disc. When the player changes to the second layer, the video and audio may freeze for a moment. The length of the pause depends on the player and on the layout of the disc. The pause is not a defect in the player or the disc.

Possibly the player does not handle the layer change well?

387205 2005-09-10 01:58:00 I remain with my guess, that possibly the player does not handle the layer change well. Which may mean you have to manually forward it. On a stand alone player there isn't much you can tweak. godfather (25)
387206 2005-09-10 03:11:00 oh, the rest of the movie is fine, we watched it all with no other probs and clear as...... :(
