| 387654 | 2005-09-14 10:11:00 | Labour have had six years to do it. Funny how they decide to do it now. They are just a pack of no-hopers and queers. And prior to the last six years what happend then? At least the current Government have done something. The other lot just sat on their hands. I personally disagree with getting rid of the Privy Council and the Social engineering when the homosexuals and lesbians can now have the same sort of rights as those of us that made the commitment to get married. I also do not like all the PC rubbish we have today. I just prefer to call a manhole a manhole rather than calling it a personhole. For me I prefer the status quo rather than a change of government. Yes! I will be voting on Saturday. Your vote will count so use it. |

| 387656 | 2005-09-16 05:57:00 | I think people should ignore the pledges on Labours pledge cards...if you look at the one from 1999 there are still things which she hasn't done, such as lower hospital waitings lists. This on nationals website may also affect who you vote for. I am really suprised national hasn't kicked up a fuss about this yet... Labour fails to report crisis at ADHB 15 September 2005 - 10:28 - Dr Paul Hutchison Health Nationals Health spokesman, Paul Hutchison, says it is a scandal that senior government Ministers were briefed in June about the dire financial status of the Auckland District Health Board but they didnt make the information publicly known. Briefing papers given to Ministers on 27 June 2005 reveal that ADHB has an underlying deficit of $100 million and there are possible plans to cut more than 1000 staff as well as services. It is a damning indictment on Labour that despite ADHB having been under intensive monitoring for two years it has come to this, says Dr Hutchison. What is far more damning is that senior government Ministers knew on 27 June but kept the information under wraps. Annette King has continued to crow about her supposed achievements as Health Minister, all the while knowing that New Zealands biggest DHB is at serious financial risk and jobs and services could well be cut. ADHB board papers further reveal that the culture has not been one of cost control or disciplined financial management, and that the actions which ADHB must take include some which may generate high levels of discomfort within the DHB and potentially intense media comment. Labour Ministers have demonstrated unbelievable deceit by sitting on this information before the election. The public and staff at ADHB deserve an assurance from the Health Minister and the board that there will be no cuts in services or medical and nursing staff, says Dr Hutchison. Ends |
