| 387509 | 2005-09-11 07:33:00 | What happend to New Zealand webhosting? As far as I can see if a hosting company has .co.nz its going to be way over priced and really poor. How can you call 150MBs of space Premium webhosting where you pay 50$ a month? You can get 150MBs of space free outside of New Zealand and a premium account is more like 10gigs of webspace and 50 gigs bandwith. New Zealand webhosts need to get with the times and start competing with real webhosts. |

For example TJR Networks (http://www.tjrnetworks.com) has pretty reasonable prices, though their servers are in the US and they do target the international market more than the local market. However, you are right about hosts with servers actually located in New Zealand. I guess some people don't realise how much money they are wasting when they get their ISP etc to host their site. | maccrazy (6741) | ||

I would say they should try and be more competitive because there is no reason customers can't buy from a foreign company but as there are so many people in New Zealand who see happy paying $40 a month for 20MB of space I guess there is really no reason for them to drop their prices. :p |
