669931 2008-05-16 04:55:00 Anyone had any experience with this gadget? Any good/bad comments?

I intend to use it to replace a mouse, rather than as a "proper" drawing tablet for graphics work.

669932 2008-05-16 05:09:00 I've found Genius products to be cheap and nasty and last 5 minutes. pctek (84)
669933 2008-05-16 06:17:00 I tend to agree with pctek - although I have Genius headphones that have lasted a while.

But a tablet (or mouse or keyboard) is an interface device - it's your physical link to the computer. Over the years I've found that good money spent there goes a long way.

DOn't bother with the cheap one. I purchased a cheaper tablet, and it was ok, but it is no where as good as the more expensive ones. Wacom are the one to get

669936 2008-05-16 09:04:00 Cheers everyone. I'm currently playing with my friend's (older) Genius tablet, and it has been very good - however it is an older, and larger model.

As I'm not doing any graphic/photo work with it, it doesn't have to be brilliant - hence why I'm unwilling to fork out for a proper Wacom.

Are you just wanting to use it generally or are you wanting to use it for a specific app?

One problem I have found, is when using dual monitors, the relative area on the tablet is reduced to accommodate both screens. Maybe the Wacom ones have software that solve this problem, but the Aiptek one I have doesn't work well with dual screens.

The wacom bamboo one look quite well priced, although I don't know how good it is.

669940 2008-05-16 21:38:00 I just want to use it as a mouse, for general purpose PC use. I've found that it resolves my problem with OOS. somebody (208)
