| 390046 | 2005-09-22 05:06:00 | Hi all My DVD has lost its red colour. Have swapped leads etc and blue and yellow are ok, and I can get red if I plug the red lead into one of the other colour chanels. Any thourghts as to a fix. At the price they are, it may not be worth sending to the shop for repair. Cheers Craig |

You could also try the DVD player in a friends or shops set to prove it's not your TV. Are the colours ok on the TV, someone hasn't been playing with the colour palette by mistake? Also check that output is set to Pal and not NTSC All things to consider. then blame the gear. :2cents: |

I can get red if I put the red lead into one of the other colour chanels, and I don't get any colour if I put the other colour leads into the red chanel. TV's fine and have checked all the TV settings. Haven't tried another TV, but would not imagine it would make any diferance. But one never knows. | craigb (4884) | ||
| 390049 | 2005-09-23 02:12:00 | Repairs would be very marginally economic. ;) I have repaired a couple of DVDs lately. One had a shorted diode in the power supply, the other had an internal metal reinforcement bend down(with the top) to stop the tray moving. I bought both as "non workers" for $2 each. But I don't think paying someone to fix them would have been worth it. The power supply at least had recognisable, testable, easily changed, components. The board which makes the pictures is not meant to be repaired. SMD parts are getting smaller and smaller. :( | Graham L (2) | ||
