390453	2005-12-28 21:37:00	I got some Spam from "Alastair Shannon" < alastair@jansen . co . nz > (AK branch) after attempting to do some bizzo with them via E . I advised the local CHCH branch how annoying i found it . This involved much swearing about that ass in AK who i will now never deal with . I also pointed out that this puts me off doing any online bizzo with the company as they cannot be trusted with my details . Lack of trust has inspired me to look elsewhere for suppliers . The Spam has stopped . I am again a regular client of CHCH branch where i spend all my disposable income . Funny how they didn't want to see that situation altered . :stare: I think pointing out that spam inspires one to look elsewhere is a VERY effective way of getting it turned off . Local businesses can be dealt with easily in this way . :D Wow, you're smart!! I agree with the poster who said use the delete button and stop whinging . I have a huge e-mail list of addresses which I save when I receive an e-mail . If you do not wish to receive my e-mails you can either delete them or reply to them asking to be removed which I will do immediately . Have a good New Year .	jansen2u (8948)

Are generic unrequested emails that are sent to potentual customers who may or may not be interested in the specific product or service classed as spam? I believe so . If you did get my email address directly, i have to assume that i misspelt one of your CHCH staff email addys, or due to holidays or whatever, chch staff email was redirected to you at some stage . I certainly did not not send you any email that i can remember, nor did i ever say, hey, email me to sell me your latest offers whenever you feel like it . . . . . Whenever i get email like that i start looking elsewhere . So far i've bought a couple of lab . gruppens or your company, atleast a roadcases worth of cables, connectors, various toys like phonic crossovers, quad DIs, various microphones . . . . . i could go on, and on, but perhaps i should just go on and on elsewhere? There are a lot of other sourses for equipment that meets my growing needs . The only reason i haven't allready is the high quality of your frustrated CHCH staff . I deal mainly with Andy will do what he can to get me whatever i need/wish to add to my rig . I typically have things on backorder as Jansen doesn't seem to have great stock levels . I appreciate Andy emailing me to let me know that connectors or whatever have finally arrived . I do not appreciate you or anyone else i do not know emailing me to tell me about some wonderful deal on something i either cant afford, or wouldn't fit well with my existing system . Fair enough but I find e-mailing existing customers to be a cheap and effective way of encouraging ongoing business whilst benefitting those selected customers by offering discounted prices on certain products . If you do not wish to receive these e-mails, that's fine by me but I find that the majority of my customers appreciate them . nor did i ever say, hey, email me to sell me your latest offers whenever you feel like it . . . . . Nor did you ever tell me NOT to send you them, instead choosing to slur my name on a public forum . Incidently, is it not a bit hypocritical of you to put my e-mail address on a public forum? I'm just trying to think when i actually signed or created any formal account thingy.... it was years ago, when the chch shop first opened, and i don't use it anyway. I'm a cash custumer, and the address you would have got for me, chris@millerton.co.nz has long been written off and diverted directly to the bin.
