I've been a heavy smoker for over sixty years. I have drunk practicaly nothing except coffee over the same period.
By your reasoning this makes me an addict...........
If you don't know what you are talking about,Don't!!!I listed the 3 most common drugs in this country. Alcohol, tabacco, and coffee.

I'll start with alcohol. Try talking to the staff at your local A&E who have to deal with the drunk accident victims and stitch back together the people after the drunken squabbles, not to mention deal with the direct physical decay it causes. Talk to your local police who have to deal with the stupidity of pissed people, or it's aftermath.

As for the word "addict" that is your word, and therefore your reasoning. I at no point said that all people who use these drugs are automaticly addicted to them. There is no dought that many become that way, hence the terms "alcoholic","coffee addict", and "cigarette addict" things we no dought will have all witnessed unless we live on a island sociailly. As you don't mention alcohol as a personal drug of preferance, i assume that you are not addicted to it, and perhaps may not use it at all.

Most smokers of tabacco are addicted to it. Again, i find it unlikely that anyone would deny that the people who use this substance are usually hooked. I know many who want to stop smoking, but do not have enough will power to quit tabacco, including one man who had enough will power to quit a raging herion habit cold turkey, but could not cope without his tabacco fix. Tabacco has been known to increase the chances of much illnesses.

I mentioned coffee because it is a stimulant and a very widely used one. Coffee can be a habit, allthough not normally an issue it is still one of the most widely used drugs in NZ society. Its inclusion does not imply that it is as damaging as Alcohol and/or tabacco, nor does it deny that for some people coffee is a really bad move owing to it's effects on heartrate.

So anyway, i listed 3 of the most commonly used drugs in the country, and i pointed out the fact that they cause the most cost, moreso infact than all the illegal drugs combined. I was reffering to social health and medical costs. While what followed in my initial post on this thread was largely very much my own opinion and therefere very debatable, you didn't object to any of that.
However i'm curious to know which part of that commonly used drug list promted you to say: "If you don't know what you are talking about,Don't!!!"?
