| 670633 | 2008-05-19 10:42:00 | Increasing the start time of a laptop is easy. It's decreasing it that's a bit harder. There are programs you can get that monitor what drivers etc. run at boot, and what's redundant for your hardware. I forget what specific one I used, but I've got to use a really old dell at work, and these programs are all that make it tolerable. That and cacheman. I may be stuck with bad hardware, but I'm making the best out of a bad situation. Sadly, though, I have to use McAffees on it, otherwise all sorts of other custom programs throw wobblies. That puts a hamper in it. Anyway, run CCleaner fairly often too. And run through add/remove programs and get rid of anything that you don't use. That should do a fair amount. |
