670029 2008-05-16 08:32:00 Hi folks

Not a huge problem, but an annoying one.

I bought a new Acer laptop featuring Vista and it's been going great, but I've lost my desktop wallpaper. When I right click on my desktop and attempt to 'personalize', it won't load up a wallpaper. If I download one from off the Net, it'll only stay put until I next reboot my computer.
As I say, very annoying: mad:

Does anybody know what has happened and how I might fix the irritation?

Cheers,
Steve

670030 2008-05-16 09:00:00 See if this is of any help

1. Open "Control Panel".
2. Make sure "Control Panel Home" is selected on the left and NOT "Classic
View".
3.Look for "Ease of Access". DO NOT Click on it.
4. Directly Under "Ease of Access" look for "Optimize Visual Display". Example of Location (www.imagef1.net.nz)
5. Select/Click on "Optimize Visual Display".
6. Scroll down the page - Look for and un-check box beside "Remove Background Images (where available)". Check Box highlighted (www.imagef1.net.nz)

670031 2008-05-16 09:02:00 Maybe try Start - Control panel - Personalization - Theme, then change to Windows classic, then reboot. Then change it back to Windows Vista, then reboot. I think it might change to Vista wallpaper, then try applying your own wall paper. Again, a reboot might be required... kahawai chaser (3545)

I'll give your possible solutions a go and report back.

Cheers.
