671400 2008-05-22 04:58:00 Have just acquired a one year old Compaq laptop. The first time I turned it on it saw my Belkin 54g modem/router and connected perfectly to the internet. Since then it fails every time. It seems to be seeing the modem just fine, but refuses to connect to the internet. It says the signal is fine. (WEP enabled) but that's the end of it. Have checked all drivers and they seem to be okay. Is there an arcane setting I have missed? Can anyone help?

Many thanks

Phil Burt.

671401 2008-05-22 05:22:00 Did you have to input the WEP passphase when you connected the 1st time?, did you save them? SolMiester (139)

671403 2008-05-22 06:49:00 Phil, the wireless connection, double click the icon on the taskbar in the right hand corner, check to see if connected, if not try, you should be prompted for passphase SolMiester (139)
