Go to ILoveMaggieThatcher.com, or RonaldReaganWasRight or RogerDouglasIsGod. Self-righteous stirrers do no good except bolster you own whinery. Get a life. Sorry Personthingy, you didn't say that. Really, it was just an impression I received from reading various posts. No offence intended. And Mark is entitled to his views. :D |

| 391929 | 2005-10-03 00:48:00 | N A T I O N A L N E W S S T O R Y Huntly protesters caught napping 03 October 2005 By YVONNE TAHANA and ESTHER HARWARD Protesters planning to stop a giant 255 tonne turbine crossing Tainui Bridge to the Huntly Power Station woke today to find it was already there . They had planned to stop Genesis from moving the part - which was held up on its way from Auckland to Huntly last week by blockading the bridge . Waahi Whanui the group that represents marae in the area and who want compensation for the development announced plans last week to load the bridge with cars and lay down a wero, or challenge, to Genesis . Today group chief executive Hori Awa said the component was already at the power station . Genesis confirmed the turbine had arrived on site at 4am . Sources say Waahi Whanui thought nothing would happen until after a meeting scheduled for this morning between Waahi Whanui and Genesis . Mr Awa said a watching vigil was not kept and he wouldn't be making any further comment until after this morning's meeting . Chairman Taitimu Maipi said the protest wasn't about money, it was about the long-term relationship between people in the area and the State-owned enterprise . Genesis Energy's Richard Gordon denied the company had sneaked the turbine through . |

I know: Mr Awa said a watching vigil was not kept and he wouldn't be making any further comment until after this morning's meeting . | 391934 | 2005-10-03 04:01:00 | I thought that news item was going to say that they got caught out by daylight saving. Doesn't matter. Saved us a few bucks in "compensation." How many operations will 300,000 bucks buy? |
