It's not a focus on "moari" at all. I call 'em as I see 'em. This just happened to be the latest one given attention. I don't care what race wastes my money. I didn't like the attention & money spent on Ahmed Zaoui, either Thanks for proving my point, though. Any mention of Maori immediately becomes "Maori-bashing". I don't believe moari have a monopoly on extortion, or wasting $$, or whatever, however your focus might lead one to think they do. I best leave this one alone for a while, i'm just of to work for a bunch of Rasta-Moaris :D |

Always do gooders about B . M . even on here . You will note that do gooders are the least productive in society,in general . I was pointing out the reality of these situations, it's business, understand . Negotiation (extortion) is well ingrained in the business world . All I'm saying is to view it as it is, not by whom it is done and how (ever amature the attempt in this instance) . Andrew, the roads and this specific bridge has been upgraded, at some considerable cost, to take the load . I presume that the alternatives won't have the capacity . Cic, keep your snide remarks and prejudices to yourself, they add nothing to the debate . What is the definition of productive in economic terms? |

Read my post again, do you see the word extortion in in, good . I'm not condoning extortion, backhanders, whatever, it's a pain in the arse along with "other" compliance costs . What I have said, is that it is a fact of life, especially where resource consents are involved (and the antecedent legislation/bylaws) . Not every time, but alot of the time . I found it more likely that a professional such as a lawyer, accountant, businessman or doctor would put their hand out long before an unproductive slacker would . Greenies are not immune from the practice either, they may just attempt to take a different approach to the same end . (On one occasion, we zig zagged a boundary and created a tiny little section which we gifted as convervation reserve, all for a moth eaten cabbage tree, that was on it's last roots, and a twit that thought he was in the money in exchange for a signature . The survey & legal fees, etc, worked out about the same, but the satisfaction level was oh so much higher) . |
