391204 2005-09-27 05:49:00 I thought the whole thing was hilarious until I got to the bit about this outfit being taxpayer funded.

Sort of spoilt the joke. :annoyed:

The joke, and the spoiler, also apply to the Green Party, NZFirst, the Christian Heritage Party, the ACT party, the Labour Party, the National Party...

But what can you do?

391206 2005-09-27 10:11:00 These statements, like many concerning Maori, are designed to annoy, titilate, frighten or fool the gullible and downright stupid people.
I'd have thought statements like that were designed to sell books and make profit.

391207 2005-09-27 12:06:00 Vinref, I agree, it doesn’t matter about which political party.

However, it does matter that the taxpayer is funding this nonsense!

391208 2005-09-27 13:00:00 It is beyond belief that a taxfunded community trust would publish such arrant nonsence. Are we missing something? Is this in fact a big joke?

Doesn't matter. Books are expensive things to publish. Especially as a joke. Doing it with public lolly, and from a Maori organisation - I'm cringing with embarrasment for them.

I despair for Maori. So many good people and they have been let down by their shining stars. John Tamahere, Donna Awatere Huata, Tuku Morgan...............no wonder the talkback stations get so many callers.

391209 2005-09-28 01:46:00 I do wonder what the whole book says, instead of the selective quotes that have been published on talkback 1ZB. I note talkback radio has a habit of taking things out of context. Anyone actually read the whole thing? It would be interesting to find out. vinref (6194)
