390926 2005-09-26 21:44:00 I'm quite happy to pay $49-95 as it said swap for $49-95. The telecom normal retail price for this phone is $129-95.

390927 2005-09-27 02:44:00 So is this swapya thing still going? -if so, how do I find out about it? I looked on the telecom site but couldn't find anything under "swapya". Tony (4941)
390928 2005-09-27 02:51:00 Well, the 3 phones have arrived (two separate deliveries, go figure) and since they are free, the $390 to $450 saved, depending on who you buy from, will pay for new business cards and letterhead (nearly out anyway) so all in all it is a good deal and I'm happy.

So is my daughter, who declares she will no longer feel like a social retard through having to produce a half-brick to call home.

Downside is that now I'll have to carry the damned thing around in my pocket instead of leaving it in my car-kit.

Cheers

390929 2005-09-27 03:20:00 Before you bin the brick, Billy, check out its value to collectors. I picked up one for nothing last week (someone didn't want it in the two boxes of sundries at an auction). Motorola 3300, with two batteries and charger. All perfect working order. (It's a GSM, ... and the only brick made with text messaging).

I looked for a manual, and found retrobrick.com (www.retrobrick.com/). They list that model at £229 secondhand (original price was £1800), or a brand new one for £329. It's "very highly valued by collectors".

390931 2005-09-27 03:33:00 Thanks Trev.

Typical - I tried the link and it says my phone is not elegible for the offer. :angry
