2005-09-26 10:19:00 | Meh....when I was stuck on a farm a few years ago and was presented with a bucket of goop and informed it was the milk I orginised a taxi to drive out and drop of some "real" milk.... | Metla (12) | |
2005-09-26 11:44:00 | lol we have a diary farm so we have all the milk we need lol, although i do see that we have a ow fat milk in the fridge more often though....Ahh I remember those days when I was a kid in Gore (forget the sheep jokes, heard em all and prolly done one or 2 :p). As far as fresh milk is concerned, I remember from the days I was helping my aunty run her dairy, get the milk from the back, thats usually where the fresher milk is, the older stuff is usually put to the front.

We have a dairy farm here as well. It processes up to 16 million litres a day at peak times. Man is it hard drinking that much milk with just the few hundred staff that are here. |

2005-09-27 08:41:00 | That was something that hit me today... Eye contact on the streets must now be avoided at all costs. I tested it, looked people in the eye as they walked towards me, and scared some people quite obviously. What happened to friendly NZ culture???????? Must be the collective effect of all the bottled milk!!!!

2005-09-27 08:46:00 | I missed the eye contact thing as well. In Gore, even if you didn't know them (though they probably knew my father or grandparents) you would get a 'mornin' or just a smile - though that must have changed obviously from what Prescott says. In Tauranga, they look away. Here in Waitara, you get the occassional hi. I sooo missed small towns when I was in the city
