390639 2005-09-25 02:32:00 Hey,

Is it possible to with the help of a data cable to use my current CDMA 1x cellphone to access Telecom's Mobile Data network? I've looked into the Telecom/Vodafone PCMCIA Datacards but at $500 or a long-term plan thats not what I'm looking for - can I get the same functionality with my cellphone plus data cable (for the record its a Hyunday TX115c).

Cheers,

Ash

390641 2005-09-25 04:22:00 Ah, I moved it because it was about cellphones accessing Telecom's Data Network. Don't know much about mobile data etc, but it didn't seem like it was related to computer technical problems? Could be wrong though. Can move it back if I have misunderstood the topic. :) Jen (38)
390642 2005-09-25 08:01:00 If you tried looking on the Telecom page the answer would be clear:

Enables fast access to the Internet and email for your laptop or handheld PC with our nationwide 027 mobile data network*.
Connect your phone to a PC and synchronise your contacts with PC Suite software**.
*Data cable required, sold separately. Data speeds will vary with conditions, including the number of people using the 027 network in your immediate area and whether you're moving or stationary. Data transmission speeds typically average between between 40 and 80Kbps - faster than a fixed line modem.**Software free to download at curitel.com/english; computer and data cable sold separately.

From memory, make sure you get the real deal on the cable though, as some cheap "knock-offs" dont work at all well.
