672157 2008-05-24 07:50:00 Hi I installed Ubuntu 8.04 LTS about 1 month ago on a seperate partition to my Vista installation. For some reason the GRUB menu doesn't always show up, it usually boots straight to Vista Business, can someone please tell me why this is happening or tell me a way to uninstall Ubuntu safely without the Vista CD.
Thanx

(btw Ubuntu doesn't show up in Easy BCD)

672158 2008-05-24 08:31:00 have you tried disk management in vista? also the MBR may have stuffed up williamF (115)
672159 2008-05-24 08:53:00 Have been to the Disk Management Console before but how's it got to do with this? I basically just want to remove Ubuntu forever without affecting vista and without the Vista Installation cd. Blam (54)

Delete the Ubuntu partition(s) using disk management and reformat to NTFS so Vista can read it.

672161 2008-05-24 08:59:00 Can anyone with a reasonable of experience with Ubuntu confirm this because other forums have different answers Blam (54)
672162 2008-05-24 09:24:00 I have done this [removing Linux from a dual-boot setup] several times and, unless you have stuff on your Ubuntu partitions you want to keep, this is the simplest and easiest way to get rid of it.

Which forums??

672164 2008-05-24 09:35:00 there's a 675mb partition along with the other partition I made for ubuntu should I delete it too, not sure if it is for ubuntu or not Blam (54)
672165 2008-05-24 10:28:00 If you don't have any OS's on your system except Ubuntu and Vista, wipe everything that isn't your Vista disk.

Also, you can extend (www.imagef1.net.nz) your Vista partition to fill that extra space.
