| 671766 | 2008-05-23 02:18:00 | Hi Our wonderful council has decided as i want to install a hotware cylinder and wetback i need to supply a complete floorplan to my house (both levels). I checked out my property file and well the house has had about 8 major additions alterations since it was built in 1956, the only complete floor plan is from 1956, most of the additions etc are "not to scale" sketches of the specific area being altered with the odd measurement on them, So i now have most of the measurements and a vague idea of the layout and want to draw the floorplan, however getting it to scale is going to be an issue (I got 50% on school cert tech drawing and thats where I gave up), so is there an easy to use program that, i can do measurements in that are proportional etc, (I hope somebody understands what i mean cause I don't) I'm looking at smartdraw as it's shareware and this is definitely going to be a once off. |

They are not interested in artwork. Why do they want both floors shown, rather than a location plan and installation details, or is it a plumbing schematic of the water feed ---> HWC ---> wetback they want? BTW, you can probably find installation details on the net and adapt to your situation. |

| 671771 | 2008-05-23 03:28:00 | A schematic does not need to be to scale, it usually an isometric representation of the system. You can show the division between floors as a dotted line. Show direction of flow, hot, cold, etc. Bold, dotted and dashed to differentiate. That sort of thing. Black and white, or grey scale at best. No colour. Page 29 shows a very simple plumbing diagram: Butline Plumbers Manual (www.buteline.com). You can probably get away with an overlay of the two storeys showing the location of plumbing fittings and sanitary fixtures and appliances which recieve hot water. |

Are you changing its location? To replace the old one, you shouldn't need to. Anyway, tell them to look it up in their files. |

| 671774 | 2008-05-23 05:19:00 | Measure everything, and find a nice easy number to divide everything by. 50 or 100, for example, depending on how big you want the plan to be. That way it will keep it all in proportion. eg, lounge, 8m x 6m, = 80mm x 60mm and so on... Just fake the random angle bits that your bound to get in most houses. Doesn't need to be perfect. |
