393621 2005-10-05 10:12:00 The Nokia 2280's that I just got don't do polyphonic but they do offer the ring you want beetle. On special around the place at $99 on the 027 network.

However, I am sure that buried deep in the ring-tone options, most phones should be able to provide a plain vanilla "bring-bring".

393623 2005-10-06 08:56:00 Choose your poison (Telecom or Vodafone), select a calling plan or prepay system that suits your usage/budget, go to a Vodafone or Telecom shop and ask them to demonstrate ring tone/volume etc.

Only you know what you want or need, so no amount of advice from here can substitute for your own judgement as to what is important for you.

It is as simple as that, honest, but don't make an impulse purchase just because you like the colour/look/cute salesman/whatever.

Cheers

Better to use your own music files (30 secs midi format) if you have a software for transferring files between mobiles . I got a Nokia PC Suite where I create 30 secs of midi format to send to my Nokia7260 . So instead of a polyphonic ringtone, a real one .

393625 2005-10-06 20:05:00 My alcatel POS has polyphonic ring tones, however a quick scroll through the ringtone options brings up many traditional, irritating, unignorable, loud, umissable ringtones. IMHO polyphonic ringtone capability does not rule out practical options. personthingy (1670)

393627 2005-10-07 02:05:00 beetle, the tx115c was a mistake.many people have fallen into its trap, me included. tis hand set is of very poor quality. its not just because of the polyphonic ringtones, its due to the tx115c ringing speaker because completely usless.... my old man has a nokia 6255 i think, it has polyphonic ringtones and its very loud. it all depends on the handset.

the nokia 2280 is very good, i used to own one....
the nokia 1100 is good too, on vodafone, my mum has one, she is happy with it...
the sanyo 7400, the second best telecom phone availiable, its very loud, i am getting one of these soon...
