The usual way to express this is to say "change" your clock.

"Change your clock" sounds like you swap your own clock for another one, isn't it? :illogical Is there any better way to express this situation?

Cheers :)

P.S. Thanks for the suggestion, Tony.

Sorry to be pedantic, but you should say "doesn't it", not "isn't it" inthe above phrase.

392677 2005-10-03 03:34:00 As we left the Esplanard having finished loading out for Katchafire, we looked at the New Brighton clock tower 04:10, my cellphone said 04:10, my assistants phone said 03:10 and the dash-clock of my twenty year old twuck said 03:xx (its never accurate) We were a bit brain dead from the work, and were trying to figure out whose fone tuned itself from the network :p

In the morning i looked around, the nuke... it was wrong, the battery wall clock was wrong too, the cableTV box was right, and my darling flaptop, well it seems that Mepis knew :D

Whew........
It's all so complicated!

392678 2005-10-03 03:44:00 I can understand the stuff getting time updates from the electrical wires here in the US for appliances, but I think the puter has a date to change programmed into it . . . right?

So . . that in mind, how's the US puters supposed to know that the President changed the date for DST?

Where will it get the info for the date to change?

very confused here . . . . . :groan:

392680 2005-10-03 03:47:00 Your computer clock updates from time.nist.gov or time.windows.com.

Double click the clock and select Internet Time tab.

392681 2005-10-03 03:51:00 Found what appears to be a good reason/argument for the time changes:

(from : webexhibits.org )

Studies done by the U.S. Department of Transportation show that Daylight Saving Time trims the entire country's electricity usage by a significant, but small amount, of about one percent each day with Daylight Saving Time. We save energy because we use less electricity for lighting and appliances. Similarly, In New Zealand, power companies have found that power usage decreases 3.5% when daylight saving starts. In the first week, peak evening consumption commonly drops around 5%.
