I just noticed, the time on the PF1 Server is correct... remember the dilly dallying earlier this year with timeing issues?

392659 2005-10-02 03:33:00 The US is really messed up now . . . Mr . President decided to extend our DS time or shorten the other . . . can't figger it out myself . . . and now I wonder if the puter and the clock(s) and the vcr's and the microwave and the lawn sprinklers will know the new schedule . Hmmmmmmmmmm . . .

We usta spring ahead, and fall back too . . . I got a problem trying to think how NZ does it . . . upside down and different hemisphere and all . . . . . . . . . . .

Just a quick question? Is there a small program in the BIOS that KNOWS when to change the puter clock or does it get a clue from the internet or CHU Canada or what?

I know my Clie` (Palm) gets the time from the power lines when it passes under or near enuff to them . The phones get their signal from the phone company . . but that leaves the microwave and the vcr and the vhs and the caller ID system, not to mention my lawn sprinklers . They correct themselves all year long . . . somehow .

:waughh:

Originally, as explained to me from history books, the DS time change was to assist the farmers in getting more and better production from their animals and fieldhands . I gotta think that's nuts though . . . cows do not give a fig about the time . . . they get up at dawn (whatever time that is) and retire when it's dark (whatever time that is) . Never saw a cow/pig/duck/goat use a watch . As for the fieldhands, they can't afford watches anyway and just listen for the food gong .

392660 2005-10-02 03:44:00 The correct name for Fall is Autumn, thats what we use down here. Rob99 (151)
392661 2005-10-02 03:46:00 During the war, in the UK, we used to have "double summer time", ie. the clocks were shifted 2 hours. It was hell being sent to bed with still hours of daylight left. Terry Porritt (14)

I beg to differ . . . but:

the F1 clock is hour-time-wise, wrong! Since I am GMT-7, I now read the time here as 1 hour later here than there .

The minutes are, however, now correct . Work on the small part then the big ones I guess .

I figger the Eastward drift of your island has halted and you are no longer time-shifting . Either that our youse guys took a giant step toward the US again when I wasn't watching .
