| 671917 | 2008-05-23 11:31:00 | I have a new harddrive put into my presario v5000 and need a recovery disc. I created two disc when I originaly got the laptop but all I am getting is NTLDR is corrupt. The system cannot boot. the harddrive was fitted by the insurance people but they dont have a restore disc for this modle. HP want to charge me £25.00 for a disc. Can anyone help |

Go to HP's web site, locate the model of laptop and download the drivers & install. Usually If the NTLDR is corrupt then the recovery disc's are a bad burn. |

| 671921 | 2008-05-25 02:43:00 | tonyb it sounds like you are still trying to boot off an empty hard disc. to perform a recovery you need to boot the system from the first recovery dvd which must be in the dvd drive before you turn on the machine. | jinja_thom (4306) | ||
