| 673166 | 2008-05-27 19:19:00 | Biggest problem with camcorder microphones is wind noise. Get one with some type of wind noise filter over it. Mine also has a switchable option to pick up audio at 90 degrees or 180 degrees which helps filter out unwanted sound if you just want it from a narrow direction. Mine is a Sony one which is for my Sony camera, maybe Canon have them also for your camera. |

| 673167 | 2008-05-27 19:36:00 | I have a Sony camcorder with a dedicated microphone as Sony, in all their wisdom? have a dedicated shoe. If you have a mic input, Rode get pretty good wraps. A "dead cat" (see below microphone list) is an essential I am told for wind noise. Pretty pricey though. I am sure you could make one up for any mike with a bit of thought and a willing helper to sew it up. Ken www.prosound.co.nz |
