| 672973 | 2008-05-27 03:07:00 | www.vso-software.fr Thats the link to the software that I'm having troubleshooting. The computer that its being run on (Or attempted to) is a HP Compaq nx6320 Intel(r) Core(TM)2 CPU 32 Vista Operating System. When trying to run this program, it spits out the DVD tray asking for a writable disc to be put in everytime the CONVERT button is hit. When running this on my laptop (HP DV5000 AMD Turion 64 XP SP2) it runs fine, and doesn't ask for a DVD, and converts it anyway, and then you can save it. I'm trying to trouble shoot this for a friend of mine at her work place. The laptop she is on is hooked up to a internal network, with other work group settings that I don't know about. When I uploaded a video file to convert, I uploaded a avi to convert to a DVD format. When my friend uploads, she uploads a Mpeg file. I thought the different file types could have been the problem, but the program features say that its supported. Assistance would be awesome as to what to do to get this program working on this Vista Laptop. EDIT: The program has been used in the trial version of 3.1.0.18. |

I set it not to burn to DVD and it is creating VOB files in the video_ts folder just like it should. Because it is a trial it put a watermark on the video so it is not a lot of good unless you pay for a registration key. You can do just as well with Windows Movie Maker and have no watermark. Then just burn to DVD with Nero or other Burning software. |

Well, if windows movie maker does it just fine I don't know why they wouldn't want to use this program, it was "recommended" to them, but thanks. So you had to set it to PAL, and set the output folder as well ? |

| 672976 | 2008-05-27 03:49:00 | Yes. It automatically created AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders and all the correct VOB files. It played back fine for me after creation. (Apart from the watermark). If you have Nero installed just do the entire thing with that. Open Nero Vision, load up the AVI and it will do the entire job from AVI to DVD for you. Simple as you can get. With Movie Maker it has a few more steps to achieve the same thing. |

I might just get them to use Nero instead, might be best to avoid all this "trouble"-shooting. |
