395811 2005-10-13 07:53:00 Hi there, I'm in the process of trying to sell my laptop because it just isn't been used like I bought it for.

I'm well aware there is TradeMe, but this will mean the possibility of shipping the laptop elsewhere in New Zealand which I do not want. Does anyone know of a good website where I can advertise for free, or minimal fee, and get buyers locally from Auckland paying in cash?

(I have put an ad on Metla's TradeF1 as well; been there for ages now -but to no success -not even one enquirie! ... even without a price tag, as I'm not too fussed as long as it goes to good use and sell for around what I want for it!!)

:help:

395812 2005-10-13 07:58:00 I don't know about online, but in Hawkes Bay there are two publications which allow you to list free classified ads.

They're called the Wednesday Mover, and the Thursday Trader, both allow you to put free text-only adverts in. The buyer pays around $3 for a copy of the brochure, and it is actually veyr popular. There might be a similar service to this in Auckland.

Thought of that, but also the fact that TM will then be taking out $50 or so jsut in success fee. For that money, I'd rather pass on the savings to the buyer.

395815 2005-10-13 09:54:00 www.tradef1.co.nz I presume?

My brother is looking for a laptop, but I think he wants a bit more powerful one than that. I'll have to check.

395817 2005-10-14 01:30:00 A huge amount of trademe members are in auckland, you shouldnt have any trouble by specifying pick-up only.

As for the $50 success fee, just charge $50 more, theres lots of idiots on trademe who think they're getting a bargin when sometimes they're paying more than it would cost in a shop

395818 2005-10-15 07:40:00 Is TradeMe really the only way to sell things now :( Any other ways? Any help appreciated.

(Dare I advertise myself, but is anyone here actually looking to buy a laptop second hand?)
