395761 2005-10-13 04:02:00 For those who haven't heard the news yet, Apple has released new iMacs (faster, thinner, built-in iSight, media center like features, remote etc), iPods (thinner, bigger capacities and larger screens with video support) and iTunes 6 (with video support, music videos, TV shows etc).

395764 2005-10-13 05:55:00 I would like to have an apple ibook some day....just for an alternative to Windows...Been using windows since win 95 was launched... :) Mr Wetzyl (362)
395765 2005-10-13 06:59:00 Im a bit surprised, I expected Apple to announce an iPod with video, but i though they'd be boasting TV-out functions (ie ability to display videos on a TV through AV cables or Apples AirPort). I see it does say "Plays video or photo slideshows on TV via the optional Dock" but i would have thought they'd be boasting this feature more, maybe by bundling equipment to do so with the iPod.

Watching videos on a 2.5-inch screen seems a bit too small, and i know from experience with my irivers 3.5-inch screen. (www.iriver.com) But storing movies on a portable HDD player, and plugging them into TV's is a great feature to have.

The end of the DVD maybe be in sight (couldn't come quicker).

395766 2005-10-13 07:13:00 I really wish they would look at their prices (or at least give you a 3 year warranty for no extra).

Not much movement on the processor speeds .. roll on Intel chips.

The major barrier for me actually buying one myself is I'd feel bad not having built it myself. Tiger has been giving many people grief too (the 'ol spinning wheel of doom).

I did an upgrade of Tiger from panther and it gave me a few problems, so did a clean and it's been running sweet since.
We haven't upgraded the work computers yet,
It was a bit disapointing with no poermac upgrades, because the rumors were of two dualcore processors

395770 2005-10-13 08:00:00 Ignoring the fact I consider viewing video footage on a postage stamp sized screen a craptastic idea...

Does this new handbag accesory playback standard footage or is it only Apple propierty media, and is it loaded with DRM?
