I got this project to do for Technology and I need to find a good site for Dark Sensors and its components etc .

I've searched everywhere but cannot find a single site that takes it time and explains dark sensors to me .

Can anyone please hlp me find a GOOD site . :annoyed:

Thnx

395305 2005-10-11 18:38:00 Dark sensors are actually LDRs (Light Dependent Resistors). If you have a search for that, you should come up with a lot of site. somebody (208)

395307 2005-10-11 20:50:00 Just to make things a little clearer Naruto, there is no such thing as a "dark sensor." There are devices that sense light (detect photons) and when such a device no longer senses the present of light, their output will change.

In the case of an LDR, its resistance drops in the prsence of light, so its "dark state" is a very high resistance.

Photo-transistors work in a similar fashion, with light biasing the transistor further into conduction, and darkness reducing conduction.

This Site (circuits.cf.ac.uk) may help you with details, or Google phototransistor OR photoresistor +theory. This will bring you a more focussed result that the previous link that was posted. Everything you need is in the first 20 hits.

Cheers
