| 672949 | 2008-05-27 23:39:00 | Try another PC with a floppy drive, if you get the same error the disk is dead. Not always, sometimes its simply damaged sectors on the Floppy, or if the floppy is physically damaged. What I have also found is for some reason you can get that error message on a XP Computer if the original Floppy was written on Win95/98/ME, Yet on a Win98/ME PC its Ok - try on a older Operating system and it may read enough to transfer the files to either CD or a Pen drive. |

| 672950 | 2008-05-28 00:34:00 | I had a similar problem, and after searching high and low, and trying all sorts of options I fixed the disk using Windows Check Disk, with "fix system files" and "recover bad sectors" options ticked. | 672951 | 2008-05-28 02:13:00 | thats why i have a old 3.11 machine with 3.5 and 5.25" floppy drives, seems to read and format some disks better than 95 up. plus i got it working on a TCP/IP net so i can transfer stuff to a more modern setup | williamF (115) | ||
