2005-10-10 22:59:00 | no no no no no . . . I agree with mets etc . 1 . it's the people on here who give freely of their opinions, I don't see them getting paid for helping out (I'd have no problem with Mod's like Chill and Jen getting paid for all the time they put in though) 2 . what's happened to the 'free internet'? I would have thought PF1 is good advertising from press F1 and as Metla says- their advertisers must be happy with the hit rate on the site . 3 . Should users be 'double billed' for using the internet? . We all have to pay for a connection/ISP fees . . . do we want to pay for everything else as well? 4 . the next thing you know Aunty Herald will start charging for their web content :) 5 . I would (almost) be tempted to change my settings so that I saw the advertising on PF1 if it meant it was free (and last time I looked there was a fair amount of it) .

2005-10-10 23:01:00 | I reeeeeally hope Chill was having a bad hair day. I would miss PF1... not so much for the help, but for all the cat fights :D | Shortcircuit (1666) | |
2005-10-10 23:02:00 | Ah no, there are dozens of really good technical forums. Also most of the advice offered is by the general public who donate there time, (not always a good thing lol), but you get the point. | Battleneter (60) | |
2005-10-10 23:18:00 | You know how some mornings the mind can wander. Well, mines just not returning when I call it back Oh dear... I didn't realise it was contagious. Sorry about that... ;) :D And no, I wouldn't pay for PF1 either.

I would (almost) be tempted to change my settings so that I saw the advertising on PF1 if it meant it was free (and last time I looked there was a fair amount of it). hmm. the SIT proxy must be removing ads. I assumed there was very little advertising because all I can see is the small IDG bar across the top & the PC World ad on the top right. |

2005-10-11 00:00:00 | I don't think we have a lot of ads.. just a banner and a skyscraper, they are not particularly intrusive either. I visit other sites with far more advertising than this... just look at the likes of inc.com or wired.com my :2cents: :D
