673114 2008-05-27 07:47:00 I have a set of Plantronics headphones which I use on a daily basis, and I like them very much. However, yesterday, while listening to music... The headphones stopped working properly.

It now seems to only be playing the backing track while almost completely cutting the singing out - it's as if I had a surround sound system and got rid of all the front speakers. Also, when I do a left-right audio test on my headphones, you cannot distinguish between left and right - both test sounds play the same through the headset.

Now I know it's not the computer - I've used the headphones with more than one computer, and I'm now having to resort to other headphones which, while working perfectly, are not as good of quality as my Plantronics.

Please, I would like some help with this - I need my boost of decent sound.

(btw, if it helps, I think they stopped working while I was skipping through tracks and happened to stop and listen to a Rod Stewart one... not that I'm implying anything)

673115 2008-05-27 08:30:00 I had the same problem a few months ago. It turns out that some of the wirings in my earphones have come out loose. :( Renmoo (66)

673117 2008-05-27 12:51:00 Sounds as if your headphone wiring has shorted the left and right channels together making the sound monophonic, try replacing the wire and plug. feersumendjinn (64)

Any ideas if a guide on earphone / headphone wiring is available on the Internet?

Cheers :)
