672869 2008-05-27 00:09:00 :D Hey,
I have multiple peoples' laptops connected to my home wireless network, and I would like to be able to monitor how much data each laptop has downloaded in the month, so I know who's using up most of the data cap.
Is there any way I can do this?
And also is there any way I can limit the speed of the wireless connection, but not the wired one going to my desktop?

672870 2008-05-27 02:38:00 I think a lot of this will be determined by the capability if your router.
Or you could use a PC as the gateway, then you could just run monitoring software on that. But that would only work for a wired network.

Whats your Wireless Router model?

Ive just begun using some software at home that monitors the Internet traffic, but not LAN traffic, I'll find the name / URL for you later tonight. Works great! :)

672873 2008-05-27 21:07:00 also try Orion Network Performance Monitor, you will also need the net flow traffic pack, this bolts onto performance monitor to do what you need to do. 30 dat trial. if you want to do traffic shaping check out Bandwidth Controller, its software based but you need to know what your doing to use it. rileyz (13800)
