| 672756 | 2008-05-26 11:04:00 | we have a Mercury 3512 Intel 80G HD, 512Ram which we bought from warehouse stationary. Have been unable to connect to internet via ethernet cable, but tried someones laptop & worked fine. We can connect the Mercury ok using usb connection, but lots slower. Our ISP said it maybe something to do with the network card, port or network drivers? Is this something I need a computer repairer to look at or is there something I can do to rectify it? | BigAl2u (13798) | ||

BigAl2u you would need to check Networking and see if the NIC is working first, the driver is installed and OK second, and then if it sees the adsl modem. Check Device Manager to see if any problems with the 1st 2, the open a command prompt and see if it sees the modem by typing ipconfig. |
