672675 2008-05-26 09:12:00 hi
i have 3 computers on a wireless network and am currently sharing a printer and 1 folder. however i have an external hdd that i want to password protect then share, but i do not no if there is a special way to do this if i want to network it too. so i basicly want it passworded locally but shared too.
If anyone knows if there is a special way to do this or a good program then that would be great.
Thanks

672679 2008-05-27 08:20:00 If you just want to password protect the network share, using Truecrypt is a bit heavy-handed and unnecessary. Have a look at this support.microsoft.com - if you set up an "advanced" network share, and define what users can access it (disabling guest access), then users will be prompted to enter a valid username/password to access it. somebody (208)
